Civil War regimental history of the116th O.V.I. regiment written by Thomas F. Wildes and published in 1884 by I. F. Mack & Brothers, Sandusky, Ohio. This 364 page book includes a roster, a list of men buried in Southern cemeteries, and a chapter of personal reminiscences written by members who were captured and imprisoned during the war.  A newspaper article regarding the home of the Frame family of Coolville, Athens County, refernces John Frame, a Captain in the 116th OVI.  is tipped into the front inside cover and fly page of this volume. Overall very good, complete condition. Binding is tight with no loose or missing pages. There is minor wear. and some discoloration on those pages that had newspaper articles inserted. The 116th O.V.I. was assigned for most of its service to the 8th and then 24th Army Corps. During its term of service the regiment was engaged primarily in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland at  Winchester, Mooresfield, Romney, Bunker Hill, Lynchburg, Piedmont, Staunton, Gauley Ford, Monocacy, Snicker’s Ferry, Halltown, and Berryville.  The regiment suffered 94 officers and men killed or mortally wounded during the war.   Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
