Description
A collection of antique and vintage mother-of-pearl and shell buttons presented on two categorized display boards. The first board is designated for thick-heavy old mother-of-pearl and Colonial pearls, featuring circular forms with engraved sunburst and concentric geometric patterns in tones ranging from cream and grey to dark iridescent shell. The second board contains an assortment of carved mother-of-pearl, including veneered, tulip gilded, and pierced examples. Notable items include a large circular button with a finely carved cottage scene, square-quilted patterns, and various floral and foliate motifs. These items are buttons featuring a wide range of sizes and mounting styles, including two-hole, four-hole, and shank-back designs.
Display boards: 8 x 10 inches each Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
