Description
An assortment of antique and vintage buttons presented on two white display cards. The collection includes buttons of various shapes and sizes, featuring materials such as horn, bone, shell, and composition. Many buttons are decorated with inlays of mother-of-pearl and abalone. Decorative motifs include geometric patterns like checkerboards and stripes, as well as flora and fauna designs including birds, insects, and flowers. Notable individual pieces include a large oval button with a stylized inlaid profile of a face and a square mother-of-pearl button with a black linear diamond design. The display cards are marked with labels including INLAID, HORN MOSTLY & COMPOSITION, POSSIBLY TORTOISE, BONE, and STEEL.
Display cards approximately 8.75 by 11.5 inches each. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
