Description
This collection of post-medieval and vintage metal buttons features a diverse array of decorative relief designs. The assortment includes motifs such as winged lions, heraldic emblems, floral patterns, and geometric shapes. The buttons are constructed from various metals including brass, copper-tone, and silver-tone finishes, with some pieces exhibiting a gold-washed appearance. Construction techniques vary from solid cast to multi-piece and pierced metal designs. The items are presented on a pink collector card labeled French Tights, which includes handwritten notations identifying specific types such as escutcheon and steel dome.
