Description
This vintage Fuji Special Road Racer is a 10-speed bicycle featuring a lugged steel frame finished in metallic green. The drivetrain includes a SunTour V-GT Luxe rear derailleur and a SunTour front derailleur, controlled by down-tube mounted SunTour friction shifters with cream-colored covers. The crankset is a Sugino Maxy forged aluminum unit with dual chainrings. Braking is provided by Dia-Compe center-pull calipers and matching levers. The cockpit features a Nitto forged aluminum quill stem and drop handlebars wrapped in tan cork-style tape. The bicycle is equipped with a Fujita BELT brown leather saddle made in Tokyo. The wheelset consists of 27-inch silver alloy rims with high-flange hubs and tires marked 27 x 1-1/8. Pedals are MKS metal platforms with Christophe toe clips and leather straps. Accessories include a Zefal HP frame-mounted pump, a silver-tone rear cargo rack, and a water bottle cage with an insulated bottle. Markings include a Fuji head tube badge reading MADE IN JAPAN and down tube script reading Special Road Racer. Dealer decals from a shop in Warren, Ohio, are present on the seat tube and top tube. The stem is marked NITTO FORGED and the saddle is stamped BELT FUJITA SADDLE MFG. CO. LTD. TOKYO. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The bicycle is in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age. Visible paint chips and scuffs are present on the frame. Surface oxidation is noted on some chrome hardware and the shifter clamp. The leather saddle exhibits a weathered patina with visible surface cracking. Tires and mechanical systems are intact but untested; professional servicing is recommended prior to use.
