Description
This is an extensive collection of original North American comic books dating from the early to mid-1990s, containing approximately 100 issues. The lot is comprised of titles from several major publishers of the era, including Valiant Comics, Image Comics, Malibu Comics under the Ultraverse imprint, and DC Comics. The Valiant Comics group features issues of Shadowman, X-O Manowar, Solar: Man of the Atom, Bloodshot, Archer and Armstrong, Hard Corps, and Magnus: Robot Fighter. Notable among these are multiple early issues of Shadowman. The Image Comics selection is well-represented by titles from Jim Lee’s Wildstorm and Rob Liefeld’s Extreme Studios imprints. Featured titles include Deathblow, including issue number 1, Brigade, Stormwatch, Freak Force, Newmen, Vanguard, Supreme, and Images of Shadowhawk. A key issue present is Stormwatch 37, written by Warren Ellis. The Malibu Comics Ultraverse section includes a run of The Solution as well as issues of Sludge, Solitaire, and Break-Thru. DC Comics titles include several issues of Firestorm: The Nuclear Man, Fate, and an issue of The Legion of Super-Heroes. Other publishers represented include Marvel Comics with The Incomplete Death’s Head and Dark Horse Comics with Out of the Vortex. The comics feature artwork and writing by prominent 1990s creators such as Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Warren Ellis, Barry Windsor-Smith, Bob Hall, Erik Larsen, and Brandon Choi. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The comic books are generally in Good to Very Fine condition. Most issues are individually stored in protective plastic bags with acid-free backing boards. Covers typically display bright colors and original gloss. Observable minor defects include light spine stress, corner blunting, and small price stickers on the exterior of the plastic bags. No major structural damage such as cover detachments or significant tearing is apparent from visual inspection.
