Description
This lot features a collection of five baseball figurines and statues representing players from the Pittsburgh Pirates and a commemorative series from the Columbus Clippers.
The Dave Parker We Are Fam-A-Lee figurine is a cold-cast piece depicting the player in a late-1970s era Pittsburgh Pirates uniform with a black jersey numbered 39, yellow pants, and a yellow helmet. The figure is captured in a running motion on a dirt-textured oval base. The base features a gold-tone nameplate inscribed DAVE PARKER and a white sponsor block for PennTelecom. This item includes its original black decorative box featuring a black-and-white portrait of Parker.
The Honus Wagner Statue Series piece is a bronze-tone commemorative statue showing the Hall of Fame shortstop in a batting follow-through pose. The circular base includes an incised nameplate reading J.P. HONUS WAGNER and a gold-tone sign for PNCBANK. This statue includes its original orange commemorative box.
The collection also includes three identical boxed figurines of Mariano Rivera, issued for the Columbus Clippers 30th Anniversary Commemorative Collection in 2006. While the player is depicted in New York Yankees pinstripes in a pitching follow-through, the packaging commemorates his tenure with the Clippers, the former AAA affiliate of the Yankees. The window boxes feature a list of other series subjects on the reverse, including Jorge Posada, Robinson Cano, Bernie Williams, and Derek Jeter. Each Rivera figurine base is printed with MARIANO RIVERA.
Wagner statue: 7.25 inches (to top of bat). Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The items are in good displayable condition overall. The original boxes show signs of minor shelf wear, including light edge rubbing and minor creasing. Each of the three Mariano Rivera boxes has a yellow adhesive price sticker on the front upper left corner.
