Description
A large vintage octagonal pendant light fixture in the Tiffany style. The shade is constructed from leaded glass panels using the copper foil technique. The primary panels are composed of opalescent cream slag glass with subtle swirling patterns. A decorative border of streaky pink glass encircles the midsection. The lower skirt features a series of fruit motifs including a yellow pear, purple grapes, an orange peach, a green apple, and red cherries, each set against a deep green background. The fixture is crowned with a matching smaller octagonal vented cap. The interior contains a single light bulb socket and includes a ceiling mount with a circular fluted canopy. A small paper label is affixed to the interior of the mounting bracket, though the text is not clearly legible.
Width: 21 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The glass is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The leading and solder joints exhibit a natural dark patina and surface oxidation consistent with age. Mounting hardware and wiring are present; however, the electrical components are untested. It is recommended that vintage electrical fixtures be inspected and rewired by a professional prior to installation.
