Description
This lot features three pieces of vintage home audio equipment. The first component is a Pioneer Model PD-201 Compact Disc Player, manufactured in Japan in August 1992. The unit is finished in black and features Pulseflow D/A conversion, a motorized disc tray, a vacuum fluorescent display, and a front-panel headphone jack with an adjustable level control. Rear panel outputs include left and right RCA line jacks and a CD-Deck Synchro control interface. The second item is a Kenwood Model KX-W595 Stereo Double Cassette Deck. This unit features two tape wells, with Deck A designed for playback and Deck B for recording and playback. It is equipped with Dolby B noise reduction, high-speed dubbing controls, and an LED peak level meter. The third component is a Penncrest Model 6911 Solid-State AM-FM Stereo Receiver, marketed by J.C. Penney Co. and manufactured in Japan. The receiver is housed in a cabinet with wood-grain laminate side panels and a brushed metal faceplate. It features an analog tuning dial with a Stereo-Eye signal lamp and controls for volume, tone, balance, AFC, and input selection. The rear panel provides connections for FM antennas, a phonograph, recording out, and 16-ohm speakers. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The Pioneer CD player shows standard surface dust and minor scuffs; the red standby light is active when the unit is connected to power, but further functional testing has not been performed. The Kenwood cassette deck shows moderate surface wear and dust; the unit is reported as non-functional (does not turn on) and is sold for parts or repair. The Penncrest receiver exhibits significant signs of age, including oxidation and pitting on the chrome-finished trim and minor peeling of the wood-grain laminate at the edges; the unit is untested.
