Description
This is a reproduction wall-mounted oak telephone manufactured by Paul Nelson Industries Incorporated of Englewood, Colorado. The unit is designed in the style of an early 20th-century magneto wall telephone. The cabinet is constructed from oak wood with a medium brown finish. It features a rotary dial concealed behind a small hinged wooden door on the front. External components include two brass-finished bells or gongs at the top, a black metal transmitter arm with a black mouthpiece, and a hand crank on the side. A black composite receiver is connected to the side via a brown cloth-covered cord. The back of the unit bears two labels: one identifying Paul Nelson Industries Incorporated with a PNI logo and a Colorado address, and another indicating FCC compliance with ringer equivalence 1.0A. The front of the cabinet displays a blue and gold metal label for the American Electric Co. of Chicago, which is a historical reproduction mark. A modern modular RJ-11 telephone line cord is attached at the rear. The brass transmitter housing is embossed with PATENTED IN U.S.A. and additional patent dates.

Condition report:
Fair to good condition. The main oak cabinet exhibits minor surface scratches and scuffs consistent with age and use. The lower wooden writing shelf has broken off from the main body but is included as a separate piece; the attachment point on the main cabinet and the shelf itself show splintering and exposed wood grain. The brass bells and mouthpiece housing show oxidation and tarnish. The receiver and cord are intact. The unit contains modern internal electronics for use on standard phone lines; functional status is untested.
