Description
An early 20th century American table lamp manufactured by the Miller Lamp Company. The lamp features a large octagonal shade with eight panels of marbleized slag glass in a cream and caramel variegated palette. The glass panels are secured within a dark patinated cast metal frame detailed with ornate filigree overlays. The upper trapezoidal panels display a lattice pattern while the lower rectangular panels feature elaborate scrollwork and fleur-de-lis style motifs. The shade is topped with a decorative cast metal finial. The shade is supported by a heavy cast metal base with a fluted and foliated column rising from a circular weighted foot decorated with classical laurel leaf patterns. The underside of the base is marked with the raised characters M L CO and the model number 240. The electrical fixture includes a double light socket with individual pull chain switches and an older non-polarized two-prong plug.

Condition report:
Antique condition with significant wear. One lower rectangular slag glass panel is broken and cracked. The cast metal frame and base exhibit extensive finish loss, surface pitting, and white oxidation pustules consistent with aged white metal or spelter. The electrical wiring is aged and shows wear to the cardboard socket insulators; testing confirms one socket is currently functional, but professional rewiring is recommended for safety.
