Description

This collection consists of three mechanical carriage clocks in polished brass cases with beveled glass panels on all sides and top viewing windows. Each clock features a folding brass handle and a visible platform escapement. The first clock features a corniche-style case with a turned brass handle and a white enamel dial set with black Roman numerals and black blunted spade hands. The second clock is housed in a similar corniche-style brass case and the back movement plate is stamped with an oval mark reading MADE IN FRANCE. It features a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and black blunted spade hands. The third clock is a larger example with a case featuring rounded moldings and a decorative folding handle. The off-white dial includes black Roman numerals and a stylized interlaced monogram, possibly AR, positioned below the center arbor. This third clock includes a subsidiary alarm dial at the 6 o’clock position with Arabic numerals 1 through 12.

Measurements:
Individual clock heights range from approximately 4.75 inches to 5.25 inches excluding handles.
Total width of group is approximately 10 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:

The items show signs of age and wear consistent with use. The first clock shows minor surface oxidation to the brass. The second clock has a cracked and partially missing top glass viewing panel. The third clock displays noticeable verdigris and oxidation on the brass case, with some light discoloration to the dial. All movements are untested and likely require professional cleaning or repair. No winding keys are included.
