Description
A collection featuring two wooden storage chests and an assortment of vintage personal effects and industrial memorabilia. The larger box is a cedar chest constructed with dovetailed corners, featuring decorative brass-toned metal strapping and hardware. The smaller chest is of a rustic wood construction, featuring leather straps adorned with brass-toned studs. Included in the collection is a solid copper Zippo lighter, with the bottom stamped COPPER ZIPPO E 03 BRADFORD, PA. MADE IN U.S.A. Also present is a brass-toned presentation key in a fitted black velvet case, inscribed with Danny Thomas Founder and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Industrial-related items include several leather-strapped equipment tags or watch fobs marked for SCHIELD Bantam and the COLUMBUS EQUIPMENT COMPANY. The lot also contains a signet-style ring with the interior band marked STERLING, alongside an assortment of gold-tone and enameled cufflinks and tie bars. Other items include a wooden folding rule, a rustic iron skeleton key, a cased travel manicure set, and multiple novelty wooden nickels featuring a Native American motif.
Cedar chest: 11.5 inches x 7.5 inches x 4.5 inches
Rustic chest: 6.25 inches x 5.5 inches x 5 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The items are in good used condition, showing age-related wear consistent with vintage items. Both wooden chests exhibit minor surface scuffs and scratches. Metal components, including the Zippo lighter, presentation key, and jewelry, show varying levels of patina, surface oxidation, and tarnishing. Leather components on the smaller chest and equipment tags show age-related stiffness and wear. The presentation key case shows light wear and some loose fibers.
