Description
This lot comprises a diverse collection of mid-20th-century paper and metal collectibles, largely originating from Ohio. The center piece is a hand-hammered aluminum commemorative dish by Wendell August Forge. The obverse features the Great Seal of the United States and is embossed with 1776-1976 and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The reverse is stamped with the Wendell August Forge anvil logo and HAND MADE. Also included is a vintage motorcycle safety handbook titled MOTORCYCLE SAFETY: A Handbook for Automobile and Motorcycle Drivers, published by the Ohio Department of Highway Safety during the administration of Governor James A. Rhodes, containing 1973 statistical data. Metal items include a heavily oxidized 1908 Ohio Registered Chauffeur badge numbered 750208 manufactured by S.G. Adams Co. of St. Louis, a 1955 aluminum dog registration tag from Jackson, Ohio, and a white celluloid Life Member pin for the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) AFL-CIO Local 18 of Ohio. The collection features two rectangular glass souvenir trays with beveled edges and internal photographic transfers. One tray commemorates the 1901 Pan-American Exposition Temple of Music and features an inset portrait of President William McKinley. The second tray depicts Mt. Taber U.B. Church with an inset portrait of Pastor Rev. J.W. Waters. Rounding out the lot is a group of seven color-tinted presidential portrait cards including subjects George Washington, John Adams, Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant, Grover Cleveland, Herbert Hoover, and Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The collection ranges from fair to good condition. The Wendell August Forge dish shows minor surface scratches but remains structurally sound. The 1908 chauffeur badge exhibits heavy surface oxidation and pitting. The motorcycle safety handbook and presidential cards show typical signs of age including toning, edge wear, and creasing; the Andrew Jackson card has a notable tear. The glass souvenir trays show significant deterioration to the internal photographic layers, including silvering loss, foxing, and lifting, although the subjects remain identifiable.
