Description
A vintage manual chain hoist manufactured by Columbus McKinnon (CM), appearing to be from the Little Mule product line. The unit features a red-painted cast metal housing with an embossed CM logo and the text PATENT PENDING. The body is stamped with serial number M 43737 and maintenance instructions stating KEEP LOAD CHAIN GREASED / NO OTHER LUBRICATION NEEDED. The hoist is equipped with a heavy-duty steel load chain and forged steel hooks. The top hook is embossed with the mark VULCAN 7. The internal brake assembly is exposed, featuring a disc stamped with the warning DO NOT OIL BRAKE. The unit is currently incomplete, missing the hand chain wheel and the outer protective gear cover. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
This item is offered in non-working condition for parts or restoration. It is incomplete, missing the hand chain wheel and the outer housing cover. There is significant paint loss, surface oxidation, and rust present on the internal mechanisms, load chain, and hooks. The safety latch on the bottom hook is bent and damaged.
