Description
This is a vintage four-string tenor banjo branded Lulu Bell. The instrument features a multi-ply wood rim with a natural finish and an open-back design. The neck is constructed of light-colored wood with a dark-stained fingerboard featuring nineteen frets and circular white dot position markers. The headstock is decorated with gold-toned stylized script reading Lulu Bell and is fitted with four friction tuners featuring mismatched plastic buttons: two black and two cream-colored. The metal hardware includes a series of tension hooks and a tailpiece stamped NO-KNOT PAT NOV. 19 1901. It is equipped with a white synthetic head and a wood and ebony-topped bridge.

Condition report:
The banjo is in fair vintage condition with visible signs of use and age. The headstock shows a significant crack and evidence of a previous repair on the side. The tuners are mismatched, indicating past replacement. The synthetic head exhibits heavy wear to the top coating, resulting in large gray patches. Metal components, including the tension hooks and tailpiece, show significant oxidation and patina. One tension hook is bent and misaligned. The wood rim and neck have surface scratches and finish wear consistent with age.
