Description
A professional-grade 5-string open-back banjo manufactured by the Wildwood Banjo Company in Arcata, California. The instrument is identified as the Troubador model, as specified on the included original warranty card. The neck and rim are constructed from highly figured flamed maple with a rich amber-toned gloss finish. The rim features a decorative multi-ply purfling strip along the bottom edge. The dark wood fingerboard, likely ebony, is decorated with elaborate shell inlays depicting birds in flight across various frets. The headstock features additional shell scrollwork and the Wildwood maker’s name in script. Hardware includes a Kerschner-style tailpiece, a metal armrest, and five planetary-style tuners fitted with pearloid buttons. A sliding fifth-string capo is professionally installed on the side of the neck. The instrument is equipped with an Elite brand synthetic head. The lot includes a black hardshell case with a red plush-lined interior and a Brooklyn, NY, manufacturing sticker. Accessories include the original limited warranty card for Serial# 02077A, one set of John Pearse 5-string banjo strings (#1700L), one set of Vega banjo strings (V9), a Kyser capo, a selection of metal fingerpicks, one plastic thumbpick, and the case key. A small white label on the interior rim reads 1102 F.

Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The banjo is in overall excellent aesthetic condition with minimal signs of surface wear to the wood or hardware. The instrument is not currently in playing condition and will require a professional setup; the bridge is unseated, and the strings are loose and tangled at the tailpiece. One small metal component, likely a mounting bracket for an accessory, is currently loose.
