Description
This lot features three vintage American hand-worked quilts constructed from cotton fabrics. The first item is a hand-appliqued and hand-quilted bed quilt featuring a twenty-block grid of stylized flowers in various solid and patterned cotton fabrics, including shades of yellow, lavender, pink, red, blue, and orange. Each block is set against a white background and framed with dark teal sashing. The second item is a Sunbonnet Sue tied child or lap quilt. It features a six-block grid with the classic Sunbonnet Sue figure in different printed fabrics on a pink ground. The piece is finished with a green and white gingham border and secured with pink yarn ties. The third item is a Trip Around the World patchwork quilt, hand-pieced and hand-quilted. It features thousands of small diamond-shaped cotton calico and printed patches arranged in concentric diagonal bands. The quilt is finished with a scalloped zigzag edge and blue fabric binding.

Trip Around the World Quilt: 63.25 inches x 69.5 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The floral applique quilt shows light age-related wear with several small dark stains and spotting visible on the reverse side; hand-quilting remains intact. The Sunbonnet Sue quilt exhibits wear and fraying along the gingham border edges, with minor lifting or edge wear to some applique pieces. The Trip Around the World quilt shows moderate overall wear with notable fraying and minor fabric loss on several patches, particularly near the scalloped edges, and fading and wear to the blue binding.
