Description
This US 1923 Peace silver dollar is a 90% silver coin minted at the Philadelphia facility. The obverse features the Peace dollar design with inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and the date 1923. The reverse features the Peace dollar design with inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and PEACE. No mint mark is present, identifying it as a Philadelphia strike. The 1923-P is a high-mintage, common date issue within the Peace dollar series.
Pure silver content: 0.77344 oz. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The coin exhibits heavy environmental damage characterized by thick, uneven dark toning and surface staining on both the obverse and reverse. A prominent light-colored patch is visible in the left field of the reverse, indicating possible past cleaning or the removal of a surface contaminant. General circulation wear is visible on high design points such as the hair and plumage. The edge is reeded.
