Description
This lot comprises a collection of approximately 14 promotional posters primarily representing film and arcade gaming titles from the late 20th century. The assembly includes commercial posters for motion picture home video releases and promotional materials for arcade and pinball machines. Featured titles include the 1988 film Vibes and the 1989 film The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, both bearing Columbia Pictures and RCA/Columbia Pictures Home Video logos. Gaming ephemera includes a technical playfield layout poster for Williams Johnny Mnemonic pinball (1995), a Midway NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC arcade poster (1999), a Sega GameWorks Rolling Thunder attraction poster (1997), and three posters for the 1983 Sega arcade game Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator. Also included is a set of four posters for the arcade game War Gods (1996) and a surrealist art poster depicting an astronaut in a field of sunflowers. Many items retain original publisher marks and copyright dates from the 1980s and 1990s. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition ranging from poor to good. Most posters show evidence of previous use including tack holes at the corners and varying degrees of surface wrinkling and storage creasing. The Vibes poster has significant tearing and paper loss along the bottom edge. The Rolling Thunder poster exhibits heavy wrinkling throughout. The set of four War Gods posters is adhered together, resulting in significant surface loss and tearing. Some rolled items show foxing and liquid staining on the reverse sides.
