Description
This American architectural-style mantel clock, dating to the late 19th century, features a wooden case with a dark stained finish. The design incorporates a fluted central pediment at the top, flanked by square corner finials. The square dial displays Roman numerals and is accented with gilt-colored scrollwork in the spandrels. Internally, the clock contains a mechanical time and strike movement with two winding arbors on the dial face, a pendulum, and a coiled wire gong. No maker marks or labels are visible on the dial, case, or movement.
Height: 14.5 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The clock is in aged, untested condition. The dial shows significant staining, yellowing, and minor losses to the surface material. The wooden case exhibits surface wear, minor scratches, and localized finish loss consistent with age. A pendulum is present, but the clock is sold as-is and untested for mechanical functionality.
