Description
This Iver Johnson’s Arms and Cycle Works Champion model is a classic American single-shot break-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. It features a 30-inch barrel with a single bead front sight and a smooth bore. The metal surfaces of the receiver and barrel exhibit a worn finish with significant surface oxidation, mottling, and a dark aged patina throughout. The firearm is fitted with a checkered wood pistol-grip stock and matching forend, which show various dings and scratches commensurate with age and utility, including a visible repair or fill on the left side of the forend. A ventilated brown rubber recoil pad has been added to the butt of the stock, replacing the original buttplate. Verbatim markings on the left side of the receiver include IVER JOHNSON’S, ARMS & CYCLE WORKS, FITCHBURG MASS U.S.A., and CHAMPION. The serial number 77884B is clearly stamped on the lower tang behind the trigger guard. This firearm is designated as Curio and Relic eligible. In house shipping is available. This firearm is at least 50 years old. If you have a C&R Federal Firearms License (Or other type of FFL) we can ship it to you, or hand it to you if you come here. If not we will have to ship to your Federal Firearms License recipient or you will need to undergo a background check here when you pickup. In-house shipping is available. Condition report:
The metal surfaces show extensive surface oxidation and loss of original finish, transitioning to a mottled brown and gray patina. The bore is in good condition with a smooth interior. The break-action mechanism and trigger assembly appear to function correctly with a solid lockup. The wood furniture remains structurally sound despite numerous field marks and a notable filler repair on the forend. The aftermarket recoil pad is securely attached though the fit is not perfectly flush with the stock.
