Description
A group of components from a United States military MCI (Meal, Combat, Individual) ration, commonly known as a C-Ration, dating to the Vietnam War era. The collection includes several olive drab (OD) green coated cans and an array of accessory items. Can components include one B-1 Unit (Crackers and Candy) produced by Southern Packaging & Storage Co., one B-1A Unit, a fruit can labeled PEARS on the base, a large entree-sized can, and a 1.5 oz can of fortified peanut butter. The peanut butter lid is marked Stevens Industries, Inc., Cinderella Foods Division, Dawson, GA, with the stamped code S 63 3603.
Accessory items include a four-pack of Newport Menthol filter cigarettes labeled Tax Exempt for use outside the U.S.A., a matchbook by D.D. Bean & Sons designed for damp climates, and a white plastic spoon in its original clear wrapper. Paper packets consist of Coffee Instant Type II (Tenco), two packets of dry Cream Substitute (Sanna Inc.), one Salt packet (Leedpak Inc.), and one Sugar packet. A rectangular brown paper-wrapped item, typically containing toilet paper, is also included. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
