Description
This is an original piece of early 20th-century American sheet music titled The Peacemaker (March). The cover is patriotically dedicated to President Theodore Roosevelt and features a halftone photographic portrait of the president within an ornate, scrolled gold-tone frame. The cover illustration includes a winged figure of Fame or Victory holding a trumpet and laurel wreath, alongside a bald eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch. The music was composed by Frank Sturtevant and published by the Conservatory Publication Society, located at Broadway and 37th Street in New York. The portrait contains a copyright mark for Pach Bros, N.Y., dated 1904. The reverse side of the sheet music features a partial score advertisement for Stars of Glory by Harriet Kennedy, with a Roman numeral copyright date of MCMV (1905) by Century Music Pub. Co.
