Description
This lot contains three framed commemorative and artistic items focused on United States military history and American cinema. The first item is a miniature US Marine Corps combat display shadowbox containing a reproduction green combat jacket with dog tags marked John Smith, a miniature M1 Carbine, a camouflage-covered helmet, and a bronze-tone USMC Eagle, Globe, and Anchor medallion. The assembly is set against a small American flag and includes two black and white photographs depicting a landing vehicle and troops. The second item is a framed combat art print by Colonel Charles Waterhouse USMCR titled The BAR on the Beach, Iwo Jima 19, Feb. 1945. The print features a detailed handwritten inscription in brown ink along the bottom margin: To Sgt Rich Mason, from the artist who landed on Green Beach IWO JIMA at 0937 with 28th RCT – PFC Charles Waterhouse. The work depicts a Marine firing a Browning Automatic Rifle during the combat landing. The third item is a black and white portrait print of actor John Wayne in his role as Rooster Cogburn, signed ROMEO in the lower right corner, an attribution for artist Romeo Lopez.

Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
