This collection consists of several volumes focused on American military history, presidential biographies, weaponry, and Western art. Major biographical works include Doris Kearns Goodwin’s Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, Ron Chernow’s Washington: A Life, Benson Bobrick’s Master of War regarding General George H. Thomas, and Willard Sterne Randall’s Ethan Allen: His Life and Times. Military and tactical titles include The Nature of War by John Keegan and Joseph Darracott, Illustrated History of Weaponry by Chuck Wills, and Native American Warriors 1500 to 1890 CE by Chris McNab. Specialized training manuals are present, notably U.S. Marine Corps Scout-Sniper: World War II and Korea by Peter R. Senich and The Ultimate Sniper by Maj. John L. Plaster, both published by Paladin Press. Art and collecting interests are represented by the large-format Frederic Remington: The Masterworks and Phil Collins’ The Alamo and Beyond: A Collector’s Journey. Most items are publisher’s cloth-bound hardcovers with original dust jackets, while Washington: A Life is a trade paperback. The collection also includes a softcover exhibition program for The Great War Comes Home from The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art and Technology. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
