This assortment comprises a library of reference works and historical accounts focused on the United States Marine Corps, American weaponry, and general military history. The collection features several specialized uniform and insignia guides, including Alec S. Tulkoff, Equipping the Corps 1892-1937, Volume 1: Webgear, Weapons, Headgear (R. James Bender Publishing); Timothy F. Klie, United States Marine Corps Eagle, Globe, and Anchor Emblem: 1868-1963; and Frederick L. Briuer, United States Marine Corps Emblems 1804 to World War I. Weaponry and equipment references include R. Stephen Dorsey and Kenneth L. McPheeters, The American Military Saddle, 1776-1945 (Collectors Library); Dennis Adler, Guns of the American West; and a second edition of Robin Yates, Western Saddle Making, which bears a handwritten ownership inscription for R.E. Powell on the front cover. Historical narratives and tactical studies include James M. McPherson (Ed.), The Atlas of the Civil War; Rick Atkinson, The Fate of the Day (Volume Two of the Revolution Trilogy); John Ferling, Almost a Miracle: The American Victory in the War of Independence; and the Associated Press photographic history Vietnam: The Real War. Unit-specific and conflict-focused materials include a 1967 Marine Corps Recruit Depot yearbook from San Diego, Eric Hammel’s Marines in Hue City, and the official 1967 pamphlet Small Unit Action in Vietnam, Summer 1966. Other notable authors represented include Patrick K. O’Donnell, Mark Harmon, and Lt. General Phillip B. Davidson. The items consist of hardcovers with dust jackets, pictorial boards, and softcover wrappers, primarily in quarto and octavo formats. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
