Description
This lot consists of two decorative items featuring United States Marine Corps themes. The first item is a Budweiser promotional advertising mirror. The piece is constructed of reverse-painted glass set within a mitered wood frame. The graphics feature a red top header with the Budweiser eagle logo and the brand name in gold-toned block lettering. The central image depicts a Marine Corps bulldog mascot wearing a World War I-style helmet marked U.S.M.C. set against a background of blue and white stripes with stars. The bottom of the mirror reads SALUTES THE U.S. MARINE CORPS in a gold-toned serif font. Based on web consensus, similar examples are dated to the early 1990s.
The second item is a contemporary embossed metal parking sign. The sign features a red background with a gold-toned border and the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem at the center with a banner reading SEMPER FIDELIS. The text reads UNITED STATES MARINES at the top and PARKING ONLY in large embossed block letters at the bottom. Manufacturer markings on the lower edge include 12M-0148, MADE IN THE USA, and M3760. The sign remains in its original manufacturer shrink-wrap packaging.
Mirror: 27.5 inches W x 21.5 inches H
