Description
This collection features several large-format hardcover volumes focusing on United States military history and the art of the American West. The military titles include Time The Civil War: An Illustrated History (Time Books), The Battle of the Bulge: The Photographic History of an American Triumph by John R. Bruning (Zenith Press), War in the Pacific: Pearl Harbor to Tokyo Bay edited by Bernard C. Nalty (Salamander), and The Marines (Marine Corps Heritage Foundation). Historical and art-related volumes include Harper’s Pictorial History of The Civil War (Fairfax Press), Remington and Russell and the Art of the American West by Kate F. Jennings (Smithmark), Charles Russell by Sophia Craze (Crescent), The Taming of the West: Age of the Gunfighter by Joseph G. Rosa (Smithmark), and Ansel Adams: Landscapes of the American West by Lauris Morgan-Griffiths (Quercus). The volumes are primarily bound in publisher’s cloth or pictorial boards, most retaining their original dust jackets. The Marines is bound in navy blue cloth with an inlaid circular gold-toned United States Marine Corps medallion on the front panel. The books are quarto and folio in size and contain extensive illustrations, including photographs, maps, and color plates relevant to nineteenth and twentieth-century American history and landscape photography. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
