Description
A United States Marine Corps Service Alpha uniform set consisting of a jacket and matching trousers. The set is constructed from heavy forest green wool, characteristic of mid-20th-century USMC service dress. The jacket is a four-pocket tunic featuring peak lapels, shoulder epaulets, and bellows-style front pockets with pointed button flaps. It is adorned with a complete set of bronzed-finish buttons embossed with the Marine Corps Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) motif. The interior is fully lined with a green satin-finish fabric. The matching trousers include an integrated side-waist adjustment strap with a brass-tone rectangular buckle. Two labels are visible inside the jacket. One is a black woven tailor’s label with gold and red text reading Jos. A. Wilner and Co. Custom Tailors Since 1897, Marine Corps Exchange, Quantico, VA. The second is a white printed label with red text stating Garment Mfgd of U.S.M.C. Approved Materials for Style Design and Quality to Like Item Approved by U.S.M.C. Serial 375.
