Description
This lot contains two pieces of olive drab cold-weather outerwear. The first item is a vintage U.S. Navy N-2 Cold Weather Deck Parka dating to the post-World War II or Korean War era. The exterior shell is constructed from heavy olive drab corded cotton, known as jungle cloth, and features a fixed drawstring hood. The garment utilizes a heavy-duty front zipper protected by a button-down storm flap, two slanted hip pockets with button-flap closures, and button-adjustable cuffs. The interior is lined with a dark brown synthetic pile. A hand-applied black stencil on the back of the parka reads LSD 25 over a 7. This identifies the piece as originating from the USS San Marcos (LSD-25), a Casa Grande-class dock landing ship commissioned in 1945. The second item is a modern commercial reproduction of a military-style field jacket. The exterior is olive green 100% cotton with a pointed collar, shoulder epaulets, and slanted hand-warmer pockets. The interior features a green knit 100% polyacrylic lining. An interior white fabric label identifies the manufacturer as Sturm Handels GmbH based in Rottenburg, Germany. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
