Description
A WWII-era United States Army officer summer khaki service uniform set, consisting of a tailored coat and matching pants. The single-breasted jacket features four front pockets with button-down flaps, notched lapels, and epaulets. It is fitted with brass buttons embossed with the Great Seal of the United States. The left shoulder displays an early-style embroidered China-Burma-India (CBI) Theater of Operations patch, featuring a white twelve-point sun and a white five-pointed star on a blue field above red and white vertical stripes. The lower right sleeve is adorned with three gold-tone horizontal overseas service bars, representing 18 months of service in a combat theater.
The interior of the jacket contains a woven label for Kahn Tailoring Co. of Indianapolis, including the company logo and the slogan The Kind of Clothes Gentlemen Wear. A handwritten laundry mark, T 2828, is visible in black ink on the interior lining near the collar. The matching khaki trousers feature a standard fly, side pockets, and rear pockets. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
