Description
A trio of pre-World War II to early World War II US Army officer’s uniform components, consisting of one pair of wool riding breeches and two olive drab wool flannel field shirts.
The riding breeches are constructed from heavy olive drab wool whipcord or elastique fabric. Design details include reinforced inner knees and thighs with multi-row reinforcement stitching, laced lower calf closures with metal eyelets and original olive drab laces, and an asymmetrical side-button fly and waist closure with dark brown composition buttons. The breeches feature two front slash pockets, a watch pocket, and two welted rear pockets, with tapered, form-fitting lower legs.
The two olive drab wool flannel field shirts are M1937-style pattern, featuring pointed collars with collar stands, dual patch chest pockets with straight buttoned flaps, brown composition buttons, and straight shoulder yokes without epaulets.
One shirt retains a small woven white cloth size tag stitched into the collar stand, embroidered in orange-yellow thread with 15-33. The same shirt also features hand-stitched laundry or identification markings on the inner fabric hem executed in dark blue thread, appearing as a cursive K followed by script and separate characters reading k 1 4. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
