July Military Auction
Lot 25315:
Description
This is a commercial reproduction of a Vietnam War era US military 4th Pattern tropical combat coat, commonly known as a jungle fatigue jacket. The garment is constructed from olive green cotton poplin ripstop fabric, featuring the characteristic reinforcing grid pattern. It follows the standard four-pocket design with two slanted bellows chest pockets and two lower bellows pockets, all secured with concealed button flaps. The jacket features a button-front closure with a storm flap and adjustable button cuffs. A white fabric sizing label is sewn into the interior neck area. The layout of the label and the absence of a Department of Defense contract number (such as a DSA or DLA code) indicates this is a commercial variant, such as those produced by Rothco or similar manufacturers, designed to military specifications.
