Description
A World War I era United States Army M1910 field haversack constructed from heavy khaki canvas with leather and metal hardware. The pack follows the standard M1910 pattern designed for infantry use, featuring a large main compartment with internal flaps and side flaps for securing gear. The front flap is stenciled with a faded U.S. mark. The reverse of the pack body features a three-line black stencil that reads HARRY F. BROWN, Co. H 112, N.Y. identifying the original owner and his unit assignment. The pack is fitted with darkened leather shoulder and adjustment straps, brass D-rings, and blackened metal snap buttons featuring a stamped geometric pattern around the rim. Wire hooks are present for attachment to a standard M1910 or M1917 cartridge belt.
