Description

An original US Army M1942 Mountain Rucksack, a pattern of field equipment utilized by specialized alpine troops during World War II and the Korean War. The pack is constructed from heavy-duty olive drab cotton duck canvas and is mounted on a contoured tubular metal frame. The main compartment features a drawstring throat closure protected by a large top flap stenciled with U.S. in black ink. The exterior is fitted with three large accessory pockets secured with web straps and metal slide buckles. The frame includes a curved lower horizontal bar and a protective leather-covered pad at the top. The suspension system consists of wide, adjustable heavy cotton webbing shoulder straps with metal friction buckles and D-rings. The interior of the pack contains a reinforced circular patch with concentric stitching. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
