Description
An assortment of military and celebrity-related memorabilia with a primary focus on the United States Marine Corps. The collection includes several hand-signed photographs: an 8×10 color photograph of R. Lee Ermey inscribed “Rich Semper Fi,” a black and white publicity still of Clint Eastwood from the film Bronco Billy, a black and white photograph of John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn inscribed “Good Luck,” and a promotional photograph signed by country music duo The Kendalls. United States Marine Corps specific items feature a wooden desk set with a large brass-toned Iwo Jima medallion inscribed “Uncommon Valor Was A Common Virtue,” a laser-etched wooden cube bank by Toystalgia Inc. dated 1986, and a stainless steel double-guillotine cigar cutter with a central brass Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem in a presentation box. The lot contains an assortment of Vietnam War era place name pins including Con Thien, Dong Ha, Khe Sanh, China Beach, Quang Tri, A Shau Valley, and Rock Pile, as well as a POW-MIA pin and a Purple Heart City Newark, Ohio commemorative pin. Historical ephemera includes a deck of Gemaco Poker playing cards depicting the most wanted Iraqis from the 2003 Iraq War, featuring Saddam Husayn Al-Tikriti as the Ace of Spades. Additional items consist of a pair of black-finished handcuffs in an original cardboard box labeled American from Wisconsin, a zippered leather souvenir wallet embossed with Karlsruhe and the Karlsruhe Palace, a vintage black leatherette box camera, a boxed shoe shine kit with wooden brushes, a galvanized steel cup, and various historical prints including the Iwo Jima flag raising and Vietnam combat scenes. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
