Description
This collection consists of United States Marine Corps (USMC) insignia and rank devices mounted on three informational display boards. The items span the World War II era through the 1960s and include various versions of the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblem for both officer and enlisted personnel. One grouping of six oxidized bronze officer collar devices is attributed by handwritten label to the manufacturer Hilborn/Hamburger and identified as WWII era. The assortment includes oxidized bronze service dress collar and cap ornaments, gold-toned enlisted collar emblems, and three silver and gold-toned officer dress collar emblems. A section dedicated to the Korean War and 1950s era features small oxidized EGA collar devices and a horizontal tie bar with a central EGA. The rank insignia group, labeled First Metal Chevs, includes metal Sergeant (E-5) rank chevrons; the 1950s versions are the pattern without crossed rifles, while the 1960s version features the crossed rifles design introduced in 1959. The items are constructed of various metals with finishes including high-polish gold and silver tones and oxidized black-toned bronze.
