Description
This collection consists of multiple United States military marksmanship qualification badges and accompanying component bars, primarily representing the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army. The assortment includes several Expert Rifleman badges featuring crossed rifles within a wreath, Sharpshooter badges designed as Maltese crosses with target centers, and various Marksman badges. A significant number of weapon-specific qualification bars are present, including those marked for Rifle, Carbine, Pistol, Sub Machine, Machine Gun, and Gun. The collection also features award bars for repeated qualifications, such as 2nd Award and 3rd Award. One early bronze-toned Sharpshooter badge includes pendant bars for the years 1915 and 1916. Several pieces are stamped with manufacturer hallmarks on the reverse, including N.S. Meyer Inc. New York with the company shield logo and A.E. Co. Utica N.Y. Multiple components are stamped Sterling, indicating they are composed of .925 silver. The badges utilize both traditional pin-back and modern clutch-back fastening mechanisms.
The items range in width from approximately 1 inch to 3 inches.
The entire group as displayed spans approximately 11.5 inches. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
