Description
An extensive assortment of United States military insignia, decorations, and uniform hardware representing the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, and US Marine Corps. The lot includes items dated from the Spanish-American War through the Vietnam era. Key components of the collection include a full-size set of US Pilot wings and a miniature set of US Naval Aviator wings, both marked STERLING on the reverse. The lot features gold-tone and silver-tone submarine warfare insignia, alongside several pairs of aircrew and observer wings. Three embroidered arched patches are present, labeled VIETNAM 1961, VIETNAM 1966, and VIETNAM 1968. Awards include a Spanish Campaign Medal from 1898 and an assortment of ribbon bars for the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal with bronze campaign stars. Uniform hardware includes brass buttons featuring the Great Seal of the United States, with maker marks for Horstmann Philadelphia and Scovill Manufacturing Company Waterbury. The collection also contains various rank insignia such as oak leaf clusters and General officer stars, campaign bars for Germany and Austria, and assorted mounting hardware and pins. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
