July Military Auction
Lot 25074:
Description
This lot comprises a collection of animal specimen pieces, including seven bovine (Bos taurus) horns and one deer (Cervidae) antler fragment. The cattle horns display a variety of natural colors from cream and off-white to translucent amber and deep brown, with several specimens featuring natural black or dark gray tips. Most of the horns have been polished or semi-polished to a smooth finish. One amber-toned specimen includes a decorative turned ring carved near the tip. The bases of the horns are cut flat, revealing the characteristic hollow interior. The collection also includes a single small antler fragment, likely from a white-tailed deer, which features a partial pedicle at the base with characteristic pearling texture and two small points.
