Description
This J. Brown flintlock long rifle is chambered in .45 caliber and is configured in the traditional Pennsylvania or Kentucky style. The firearm features a 42 inch octagonal barrel with a dark, uniform patina and is equipped with a blade front sight and a notched rear sight. The top barrel flat is engraved with the maker name J Brown in cursive script. The rifle is stocked in highly figured curly maple with a dark stain and a high-gloss finish, featuring decorative raised-scroll carving on the left side of the buttstock and a silver-toned six-pointed star inlay on the right-side cheekpiece. Brass furniture is fitted throughout, including a buttplate, a trigger guard for the double-set triggers, a sideplate, and a long-leaf patchbox located on the right side of the buttstock. The rifle includes a wooden ramrod decorated with a dark, spiral barber pole striped pattern. Key markings include the maker name J Brown engraved on the top flat of the barrel. Action is good.
