This collection consists of silver bullion coins from the Republic of the Congo Silverback Gorilla series, issued by the Scottsdale Mint. The group includes coins with dates including 2015, 2018, and 2020, each struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. The obverse of each coin depicts a silverback gorilla in varying poses, such as roaring in profile and facing forward. The rim of each obverse is inscribed with REPUBLIQUE DU CONGO, SILVERBACK GORILLA, the year of issue, and 1 OZ 999 SILVER within a geometric border. The reverses are uniform across the collection, bearing the coat of arms for the Republic of the Congo, which features a central shield with a lion supported by two elephants, a banner with the motto UNITE TRAVAIL PROGRES, and inscriptions for the issuing authority REPUBLIQUE DU CONGO and the denomination 5000 FRANCS CFA. Each coin is housed in an individual protective plastic capsule.
