This 2018 commemorative legal tender coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint for the country of Niue to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse. Struck in 2 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, the coin features a high-relief proof finish. The obverse displays the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, with inscriptions reading ELIZABETH II, NIUE, FIVE DOLLARS, and 2018. The reverse depicts Mickey Mouse in his Steamboat Willie persona at a ship’s wheel, with inscriptions including 2 oz 999 Fine Silver, Disney, and MICKEY THE TRUE ORIGINAL alongside a 90 YEARS banner. The coin has a milled edge and is housed in its original black wooden display case with a themed outer box. It is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity numbered 0380 from a limited worldwide mintage of 5,000 units.
