Description
This collection features several display cards containing an assortment of vintage and antique buttons in diverse styles and materials. One card presents folk art buttons carved from peach pits in various forms, including baskets, monkeys, jugs, and crosses, with handwritten notes attributing them to A. Nelson and dated August 1952. A second card, labeled Oriental Robe Buttons, displays metal buttons with filigree, floral, and geometric patterns, including one example with enameled details and others consistent with Japanese Damascene metal work. An Oversize display includes a large light blue plastic button and a decorative gold-tone button set with red and green stones and a seed pearl border. A group labeled Salt Glaze consists of ceramic buttons with a characteristic speckled finish. The collection also includes a pair of contemporary decorative buttons by JHB International. Materials include carved peach pits, base metals, ceramics, and plastic.
Display cards measure approximately 9 inches by 11 inches. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
