Description
This collection of vintage buttons is presented on several perforated display boards and includes a variety of materials and styles. The assortment features mineral and gem specimens such as rock crystal carved into a frog and an oriental ideograph along with onyx examples. A selection of pit carved buttons fashioned from fruit pits depicts motifs including a horse an insect and a bird messenger with several examples signed by MAX. The glass button category includes unusual shapes such as roses and shells as well as swirlback and screen back constructions in various colors and textures. Additional items include textured sheath overlay buttons and hand painted papier-mache examples featuring a bird and a castle. These items are buttons mounted to cards with printed and handwritten labels regarding material and classification.
Display boards: 9 x 12 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
