Description
This lot consists of an assortment of antique buttons from the Victorian era, organized on two original display cards labeled Steel Cups Small Page 4 and Page 5. The collection features various construction methods including pierced cup, thread-bound, wire-bound, and blued contour shapes. Materials observed include pewter, tinted brass, and mother-of-pearl centers. The decorative motifs are diverse, featuring floral and geometric patterns alongside pictorial designs such as a butterfly, a lion with a shield, a rooster, and the Eiffel Tower. The buttons are set within white circular recessed backings on yellow and orange-red cardstock. The cards include handwritten descriptive notations identifying specific features such as ivy leaf, tinted, and recurved. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
