Description
This collection of buttons is primarily crafted from coconut shell and other natural nuts. The group features a diverse range of animal forms including elephants, birds, fish, dogs, butterflies, and turtles, alongside botanical motifs such as leaves and flowers. The pieces are constructed using various artisanal techniques including intricate carving, fine engraving, and vibrant painted or glazed finishes in colors such as deep red and emerald green. Geometric shapes and novelty items, including miniature tools and a belt buckle, are also present. Handwritten notations on the display boards provide context, referencing retail sources such as Stein Mart and Jo-Ann’s, with dates including 2012 and 2022. One group is presented on an original JHB International retail card. These items are buttons that exhibit the characteristic natural grain and fibrous texture of the organic materials used.
Display boards: approximately 9 x 12 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
