Description
A collection of antique and vintage livery buttons crafted from various gold- and silver-toned metals. The items feature embossed heraldic designs, including full achievements, crests, and monograms. Specific symbolic motifs observed include anchors, crescents, crowns, winged horseshoes, and various coats of arms. The collection is organized on four display boards labeled Livery Objects, Full Achievement Livery, Double Livery, and Livery (French) or Monograms. Visible maker marks include Firman & Son Strand London and Derooster Bruxelles. One specimen bears the Latin motto Non Est Sine Pulvere Palma. The boards include handwritten and printed labels for archival identification.
Display boards approximately 12 by 9 inches each. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
