Description
An assortment of antique and vintage buttons organized and mounted on four display cards. The collection showcases a variety of textile techniques and materials including silk and linen thread-wound, crochet, braided, beaded, and fabric-covered designs. The items are categorized with handwritten labels identifying specific types such as Dorset buttons, passementerie, fabric-wound, and crochet work. Some examples are noted as having Paris backs, with chronological attributions ranging from 18th-century styles to the 1930s-40s and modern pieces. The collection includes various forms such as circular, square, and knotted shapes in a wide range of colors and textures. Several individual buttons are protected within small plastic sleeves.
Display cards approximately 12 x 9 inches each. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
